Our Story

River Region Animal Rescue

River Region Animal Rescue is a non-profit rescue based in Central Alabama. It is our passion and mission to rescue, rehabilitate, and place stray, neglected, and shelter dogs into loving, responsible, and committed homes. We do not discriminate on age, breed, or ease of placement. We choose animals based on their potential to be wonderful companions. We adhere to a comprehensive adoption process which includes finding the best possible match for each dog or cat and performing home checks.

Our mission is to save the homeless, neglected, abused, and mistreated dogs and cats in the River Region. We want to educate and empower people of all ages to show how they can make a difference in the community. Our intention is to educate the importance of pet sterilization, animal welfare, and why it is important to adopt from a rescue or shelter rather than purchasing from a breeder. We are continuously working around the clock to support the animals in need. Our team wants you to know that with your support, we will make an impact to protect as many as we can.
